Prismatic Cloud Cover

It startled me to see the cloud cover become disfigured with a chaos of prismatic colors that occurred for an hour continuously. I get the unsettling feeling that this sort of rainbow phenomenon takes place mostly over the regions where the weather is controlled by chemicals. Does the weather over your hometown look like a oil tanker spilled in the mid-air?
